IAVC Report #562 – The Capture of Wellington

It has been found that admin intervention played a significant role in the capitulation of Wellington. On Sunday, New Zealand began talks for neutrality with Italy under the reign of drhorrorshow, for the sake of reopening Wellington International for public travel. According to New Zealand, the option of an open airport had previously been experimented with, although it was decided against, due to potentially hostile elements such as the Italians. However, with the agreement of at the very least neutrality: Wellington International reopened for general travel. This was done after considering for the fact, that if hostilities would erupt, they would erupt under drhorrorshow, or after the proper transition of kingship. However, due to admin intervention by Swissy_Cheese, deathtrap was illegitimately and unannouncedly crowned King of Italy. His first act in power was to unlawfully declare war against New Zealand; an act which the Imperial Admin Violations Committee has determined, qualifies as an unfair advantage given to the Italians, as a result of admin action.
According to a report released by the former King of New Zealand, “The Italians, weary from a campaign against Spain, launch[ed] a preemptive strike against New Zealand…” due to “intel [had] they obtained” for “an attack on those troops [at Wellington]”. However, the IAVC, which has obtained a copy of the full report along with newly made amendments, found one particular addition deeply troubling:
“Tuesday, Evening EST– Past talks with the Italians about Kiwi Reunification have yielded no tangible results. Out of what is presumed to be the Roman High Command: XDA1 is openly hostile, we have not been successful in contacting drhorrorshow, we are not sure how to contact deathtrap, and only [REDACTED] has expressed some desire in withdrawing from New Zealand. Attempts to communicate within the Italian TeamSpeak, have also yielded nothing, and in fact been met with general contempt and resistance. The previous narrative of a misunderstanding is beginning to look like another Italian deception. It is quite possible that XDA1 or deathtrap, came up with a ploy to offer good relations in exchange for airport access, and used the absence of the king to provide a sense of false security, then recruited Swissy_Cheese to transfer kingship, in order to launch a surprise attack and capture the airport through admin assisted deception.”
While the IAVC cannot confirm this was premeditated, kingship should nonetheless not have been transferred by an admin, outside of grace. This action led directly to the fall of Wellington, and the establishment of an illegitimate Italian foothold in the Pacific. Such a foothold is a generous advantage to the Italians in their ongoing conflict against the Japanese and other Coalition members. Meanwhile, it is an unjust disadvantage imposed upon the members of the Coalition.
The IAVC, with full support from the Anti-Italian coalition, the oppressed peoples of New Zealand, and non-aligned states which fear Italian tyranny, recommends that Roman claims in New Zealand be removed immediately, as they were unfairly obtained. It also recommends that statesmen express any dissatisfaction over the events of the past weekend with (Nurse_Reno#3044/ Nurse_Reno) and (Whitey 4 lifey#2536/Swissy_Cheese) over available channels.
