Newsreel: i28 Remake resumes development, Crusalis Week 3 War Report

i28 Remake

Bologna of Feeleh, known previously as uhFiliate or Filiboga announced he resumes the development of his long-awaited i28 Remake, thereby raising hopes of /int/craft’s return, more than one year after the conclusion of xeth’s WW2

uhFiliate, one of /int/craft’s select few “original” players still active in the community possesses significant experience of server-making, having administered i28, which gathered wide approval and helped to revitalise back-then struggling community, hosting rather brief i29 and finally launching a spin-off effort Epochcraft that managed to establish its own distinct brand and considerable following.

Nevertheless, the development of i28’s Remake, which is to be set in the latter half of the 19th century and primarily based on the theme of the Old West, so far had been on and off and some members of the community had voiced doubts if the project will ever see the light of day.

Besides a plethora of custom hats and weapons, development updates also hint at several immersive, in-theme pre-built areas that would abound in PvE functionalities such as quests, traders, games and robberies.

uhFiliate is somewhat sceptical towards mass-advertisement and is yet to decide if the server is to be whitelisted. He proclaims a desire to preserve the mostly 4chan character of /int/craft.

Crusalis WW1 Week 3 War Report

After three grueling war periods the stalemate in the West had finally been broken and Central Powers are now eyeing total victory on all fronts

Perhaps appropriately, given the server’s setting, the first two wars on the server’s central theatre – the Western Front which pitched Vinovia’s Germany and their ally Belgium against Krza-led France and the UK were a story of gruelling war of attrition and no game-changing breakthroughs in sight. Unexpected by many observers, krza and co managed to hold the all-powerful Vinovia(the winners of last Crusalis by a long stretch) to a standstill and even place themselves in a markedly advantageous position after the 2nd war period, pushing against the German fortress of Metz/Essen from both north and south.

Notwithstanding their somewhat disappointing battle fortunes and relatively subdued rallies, Germany pulled off a staggering diplomatic turn-around convincing French Calais to switch sides, at the expense of giving up the Netherlands(which Germans won in the mid-week warzone competition) to the newly formed the Benelux Confederation, through which the Central Powers could directly threaten Paris, severely altering the strategic outlook on the Western Front.

The campaign on Saturday began with a German-Calais onslaught on northside Paris, towards the midpoint of it, however, it ground to a halt and as Belgium rebelled against Benelux and the British forces were able to nearly completely overrun Calais it nearly turned into a Central Powers rout. As German-aligned Italy captured the highly valuable British node of Alexandria, they pushed against Paris from the south, forcing the French to divert some of their forces, enabling Germans to regroup and resume their offensive, which from now on continued unabated.

Despite valiant efforts, the French were unable to break the siege and did not receive significant aid from any of their allies either. Germany managed to capture the Paris capital node mere seconds before the war’s scheduled end. Further compounding the sense of razor-thin margins, the attackers had also burned through most of their war stockpiles in the last minutes of the war.

As Germans revelled in victory and their leader Ringo delivered a triumphant post-war speech, communications between Entente leaders descended into an ugly blame game and recriminations.

On the Eastern Front, struggling Russia had been pushed back further East by Austria which captured Kyiv and boasts of coming within 11 chunks of Moscow. The Danes moved into Russian-held Scandinavia, grabbing Oslo. The Balkan Federation again narrowly won against the Ottomans, but failed to sack Constantinople. After the war India, Iran and the Ottomans merged into the massive Umayyad Caliphate. On the North American continent, the US is progressing in their quest to completely extinguish the British presence there.
