/int/craft 300 BC announced

The long anticipated new iteration of /int/craft has finally been released! Once again Lemon_Shot, one of the most controversial and recognizeable members of our community, is stepping up as the Head Admin of the upcoming iteration, with Lucius_Buddha(mostly known for being the leader of the Norse in 3.0 and powerful NATO commander in 11.0) as the Moderator and IronFE and Flindark(both peaceful buildfags) were appointed Janitors.

On the technical side there don’t appear to be any significant changes. We still go with Towny(and other rather “standard” plugins) and Chien’s map although without Americas this time which is quite understandable given the period time is set as 300 BC (with toleration to 300 AD). But what seemingly brings the new quality is the new administration’s policy regarding RP and wars contained in a comprehensive set of rules.

What’s interesting despite general efforts to curb so called “memeraiding” CB won’t implemented. Instead, destroying cities will be made illegal. Griefing, excepts for damage justified by military actions(like breaking through walls) will be officially a punishable offense now. Even “betraying” – robbing your faction’s treasure and then fleeing to another is declared forbidden. Similarily to all these protective measures, surrender will result in admin guaranteed – it won’t be allowed to keep killing the enemy after they declared it. Also the admins plead to crack down on “excessive” raiding with XDA1 camps mentioned as an example of such behavior.

According to the administration these rules make sure that “people won’t ragequit after losing one battle” therefore addressing definitely one of the most troublesome issues of the recent iteration where people were giving up to quickly or even deliberately avoiding any conflicts fearing destruction of their precious cities.

On paper, the new iteration looks promising, administration looks quite competent especially considering the fact it already started an advertisement campaign. The remaining question is will be the new rules really implemented and properly enforced? Some of them can be considered quite arbitrary and they will obviously require tons of admin intervention which is generally perceived negatively.

Worries aside though, for now let us be hyped and enjoy the new iteration. I personally hope it will be as succesful and atleast as long as 3.0.

(but please without all the admin drama and /nuke ok)
